Resurrection

1. If Christ had not been resurrected;
No life pulse for God’s economy.
If Christ had not been resurrected,
God’s lifeline divine could never be.

Chorus:
Resurrection! Resurrection!
The life pulse for God’s economy.

2. If Christ had not been resurrected;
Firstborn Son, church, Body could not be.
If Christ had not been resurrected,
The ending of God’s economy.

3. If Christ had not been resurrected,
Entombed a dead Savior He’d remain.
If Christ had not been resurrected,
Not One living soul He’d ever gain.

4. If there was not Christ’s resurrection,
No proof left that we are justified.
If there was not Christ’s resurrection,
In His life, we could never abide.

5. If there was not Christ’s resurrection,
Reborn and transformed we’d never be.
If there was not Christ’s resurrection,
Conformed to His image, none could see.

6. If there was not Christ’s resurrection,
No Body, His fullness, or His bride.
If there was not Christ’s resurrection,
God’s purpose would have been nullified!

7. But Christ has indeed resurrected!
As Spirit, He breathes God into us!
But Christ has indeed resurrected!
God has as our grace come into us!

Chorus

8. Yes! Christ has indeed resurrected!
The life-giving Spirit He’s become!
Yes! Christ has indeed resurrected!
We in resurrection, have become!

Chorus 2 times

1 Cor. 15:12-22 Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up — if in fact the dead do not rise. For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.

Background: This came from a meeting in which we covered 1Cor.15:12-22, which is Paul’s answer to those who said there was no resurrection. I sat there captivated! My spirit was leaping within me as I realized how crucial Christ’s resurrection is to God’s economy!
